How's it going, SAYAA family?
We just wrapped up a successful Lenten retreat with Fr. Pat Smith to kick off the Lenten season. Thanks to everyone who participated and shared their testimonies during the moving retreat. We're already making plans for our annual summer retreat in July, so keep a lookout for a save-the-date to come.
We encourage all of you to respond to Fr. Pat's invitation to participate in Dynamic Catholic's Best Lent Ever. You can sign up for the inspirational journey at https://dynamiccatholic.
A reminder that you can now make your offering to St. Augustine's online through FaithDirect! Here is the link: https://membership.
We look forward to seeing you around this month as we await the spring and the Easter season,

"I originally joined Team HOPE because I was feeling called to be a part of meeting the needs of our community in DC. It’s been a blessing to be part of the Feet on the Street team who are so committed to doing both charity and justice work. Every time we go out we are reminded to see Christ in all of our brothers and sisters we meet. It has strengthened both my faith and dedication to following God’s call to service." - Meghan Hussey
We invite all SAYAA members to join Team HOPE (Homeless Outreach, Prevention, and Education) for our biweekly Feet on the Street outreach. We minister by providing material needs like food, blankets, clothing, toiletries as well as the spiritual needs of a listening ear and affirmation of dignity.
This is a great way to practice the Lenten pillars of fasting, almsgiving. and prayer by meeting our brothers and sisters in the streets as human beings while we also work in fellowship to reflect on and address the structural sin in our society.
If you can’t make it in person, we are always in need on donations such as snack foods, socks, blankets, hats/gloves, bags, and travel sized toiletries.
Please email Meghan Hussey if you’re interested in learning more!
The next outreach will be on Friday, March 13, starting at 8:00 p.m. in the St. Augustine's parking lot. You can RSVP to Kristen Dunlap.
We will also be organizing a SAYAA Breakfast Outreach through Team HOPE on the morning of Saturday, March 28. Stay tuned to our WhatsApp group for more details and sign-ups.
