"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."
Matthew 28:19-20
Sometimes called "The door of the Church," Baptism is the first of the seven sacraments. With the waters of baptism, we are freed from original sin, reborn as a child of God, and received into the Church, the Mystical Body of Christ on earth.
Baptism, along with Confirmation and Eucharist are the Sacraments of Initiation, and are considered the foundations of Christian life. They draw the recipient into union with Christ and the other members of the Church.
Baptisms are ordinarily celebrated the first Sunday of the month either at the 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday or the 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Masses on Sunday. Baptisms may be celebrated at the 10:00 a.m. Mass only during the time of the year when CCD classes are not in session. CCD classes are in session from September - May. Baptisms are not celebrated during the Lenten season except in case of an emergency.
