The second week of Lent is a time to reflect deeply on God’s mercy and our response to it. This week we are encouraged to:
Recognize God’s Mercy: Reflect on the ways God has shown mercy in their lives.
Extend Mercy to Others: Actively practice forgiveness, generosity, and compassion.
Return to God: Repent and renew their relationship with Him, trusting in His unconditional love.
Sunday, March, 16
From the shining cloud the Father’s voice is heard: This is my beloved Son, hear him. - Luke 6:36-38

- Isaiah 1:10, 16-20

Wednesday, March 19 - Solemnity of Saint Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Blessed are those who dwell in your house, O Lord; they never cease to praise you. - Psalm 84:5
Reflection: Lent, we are called to follow Joseph’s example—choosing trust over fear, service over self-interest, and faithfulness over convenience. His quiet strength reminds us that holiness is often found in the ordinary moments of daily life. How is God calling you to listen and act with faith, as Joseph did?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, You entrusted St. Joseph with the care of Your Son and His mother. Teach me to follow his example of trust, humility, and service. Help me to listen to Your voice. May I be faithful in both the great and small tasks You place before me. Through the intercession of St. Joseph, strengthen my heart to love as he loved, work as he worked, and trust as he trusted. Amen.
Activity: Practice St. Joseph’s virtues today by serving others quietly and generously. Choose one way to imitate his example:
Perform an act of service for a family member without being asked.
Offer prayers for fathers, caregivers, or those in need of work.
Complete a task diligently, offering it to God as a hidden act of love.
Journaling Prompt: St. Joseph trusted God’s plan even when it was unclear. Reflect on a time when you had to trust God despite uncertainty. What did you learn from that experience? How can you grow in trust like St. Joseph this Lent?
Thursday, March 20
Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose hope is the LORD. - Jeremiah 17:5-10
Reflection: Jesus warns against storing up treasures on earth. What “treasures” do you need to let go of to focus on God?
Prayer: Lord, help me to detach from worldly things and seek only the treasure of Your kingdom. Amen.
Activity: Declutter a space in your home and donate items you no longer need.
Journaling Prompt: What do you value most in life? How does it align with God’s values?

Scripture - Bible source
Reflection: During Lent, we are invited to examine how we receive God’s messengers in our lives. Do we welcome God's word and allow it to bear fruit in us, or do we resist His call to change? Just as the tenants were entrusted with the vineyard, God has given us gifts, relationships, and responsibilities—are we faithful stewards of what He has given us?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, You have entrusted me with many blessings, yet at times, I resist Your call to bear fruit for Your Kingdom. Forgive me for the ways I have ignored Your voice or rejected the opportunities to serve You. Open my heart to receive Your word with humility and to respond with love. Help me to be a faithful steward of all You have given me. May my life bear fruit that glorifies You. Amen.
Activity: Take a step today to become a better steward of what God has entrusted to you:
Reflect on a specific gift or responsibility God has given you (e.g., your talents, work, family, or faith). How can you nurture it better?
Make an intentional effort to share a blessing—whether your time, resources, or encouragement—with someone in need.
Read Matthew 21:33-43 again and ask God to show you an area in your life where you may be resisting His call to grow.
Journaling Prompt: What spiritual fruits are growing in your life right now? Are there areas where you feel resistant to God's work? How can you become more open to bearing fruit for His Kingdom this Lent?
Saturday, March 22
'My son, you are here with me always; everything I have is yours.' - Luke 15:1-3, 11-32
Reflection: The Prodigal Son reminds us of God’s unconditional love. Do you need to return to the Father’s embrace today?
Prayer: Father, I am sorry for the times I have wandered from You. Welcome me back into Your loving arms. Amen.
Activity: Go to Confession or spend time in repentance and prayer.
Journaling Prompt: When have you experienced God’s unconditional love? How did it transform you?
