Fr. Paul Dressler, OFM Capuchin, has served as a weekend assistant at St. Augustine Church since September 2011.
Born and raised in the D.C. area, Fr. Paul graduated with a B.A. In English and Philosophy from Mt. St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg. After graduation, he went on to teach for several years in Catholic high schools in the D.C. area before entering the Capuchin-Franciscans in 1992. Fr. Paul received his Masters in Divinity from Washington Theological Union and was ordained in 1999.
He is the director of post-novitiate formation for the Capuchin-Franciscans at Capuchin College (Washington, D.C.), and he has been a retreat master and speaker at several youth and young adult conferences. Fr. Paul’s major influences on his spirituality and thought include St. Augustine, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Therese Liseaux, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Padre Pio, to name a few.
