A native Washingtonian, Fr. Steve was baptized in Church of the Nativity in Northwest Washington. He has been a Franciscan Capuchin for more than 35 years and a priest for 33 years. He was assigned to St. Augustine Catholic Church in October 2015. Previously, he served 20 years at Shrine of the Sacred Heart, N.W. of which nine of them were as Pastor. He was also Pastor of Cristo Salvador Parish in York, Pa.
Other places that Fr. Steve have served are: McKenna House, transitional shelter for homeless men, CASA (director for Court Appointed Special Advocates for abused and neglected children); San Francisco de Asis, San Juan, Puerto Rico. He also served 4 years as a Correctional Specialist (case manager) at the Pre Release Center in Rockville, Md., working with residents making the transition from jail or prison back into the community. Fr. Steve is also fluent in Spanish.
