Health/Homebound Ministry

Our Mission

The mission of the Health & Homebound Ministry is to respond to the spiritual and emotional needs of the sick and homebound parishioners and their families. The ministry also provides general health and wellness information to educate the parish community. The Homebound Ministry serves as an advocate for the homebound and physically challenged parishioners by coordinating ride-share to attend weekly Masses, scheduling home visits for receiving the Holy Eucharist, and facilitating opportunities to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation as well as Anointing of the Sick twice yearly during Mass. The Ministry offers training for its members and assists in the training of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to bring Communion to the homebound.

Health Ministry Prayer

Lord God, gracious, good and gentle to all Your children, bless us who have answered the call of Jesus Your Son. May we love as He loved, serve as He served and heal as He healed. We dedicate ourselves to serve the sick and homebound in His name. May we be blessed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit that are necessary to fulfill our mission.

Grant us listening hearts that we may hear the pain of others. Grant us generous hearts that we may share the pain of others. Grant us compassionate hearts that we may heal the pain of others. Grant us hearts open to You and to Your Son, Jesus Christ Our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
