Many approach the Season of Lent as an opportunity to work on themselves, get their act together, straighten out certain areas of their lives; or fix what needs to be fixed, etc. This is not a bad way to approach the season but how we go about accomplishing the changes we need to make can be the difference between having a fruitful, productive, grace-filled journey and arriving at Easter as if Lent never even happened! In the Gospel today, we read what may be the most famous verse in the New Testament: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life (John 3:16).Why did God have to send his Son? The same reason God sent me a dentist!
